Why You Should Pick Artificial Lawn For Your Home’s Garden

Many homeowners are choosing artificial lawn because it is low maintenance which requires less time thus they have more time to spend with the people they love. The question is, is that the right for your garden as well? Will people know that it is not real? Will it be too hot during the summer time resulting to less enjoyment for children as well as the pets? The answer to these and many other tips for artificial lawn is best addressed by a professional installer. Here are things we know about artificial lawn from an expert in outdoor living, Scott Gregory, based in Australia.

In the recent years, artificial lawn has improved in quality as well as appearance. It does not resemble what they call as the Astro Turf and it is already available in smaller blocks. There is no need to water it, it does not need fertilizer and it requires very little maintenance.

Artificial lawn and other synthetic landscaping products can get very hot when the temperature is very high during the summer months but compared to concrete or bricks, it is easier to cool down with water from the garden hose.

Gregory’s company sells two types of artificial grass for landscaping – Augusta and Savannah. Augusta has thin blades and the grass has a couch style while Savannah has wide blades and the lawn style is buffalo. These two kinds are selling at almost the same rate because buyers choose depending on their personal preference.

Gregory also shared tips for artificial lawn installation in the garden. First, they remove 70 mm of the existing grass or sand in the garden. After which, they add the same amount of base material which eventually transforms into solid form but the foundation can be penetrated by water without issues. The finish base will end up being 50 mm. this is the time to place the lawn which is to be followed by 8 kg of sand for every square meter. The sand is responsible in keeping the lawn in place so its position does not shift. This is also the reason why the blades remain standing to create an authentic look.
