DrChrono Working With 3D4Medical To Bring In 3D Models To Healthcare Providers

EHR provider DrChrono is working to bring innovations to medical facilities. Following partnering up with medical inventory management provider, FlexScanMD, it’s now partnering up with 3D4Medical, a 3D technology company, in order to give medical practitioners access to 3D modelling and animation videos.

This partnership aims to bring 3D4Medical’s 3D interactive anatomy models to medical providers that use DrChrono’s mobile EHR solution, particularly those specialising in the areas of chiropractic, cardiology, dentistry, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and physical therapy.

Utilizing their tablets and stencils, doctors can draw on these models, as well as display and move around cross-sections of anatomy in order to help inform patients about their bodies and what conditions they might be dealing. If the patients need more information, the mobile EHR solution can now access 3D animation.

3D4Medical President Niall Johnston says that, instead of having to rely on 2D photos, physicians can now show patients interactive 3D models that can easily and clearly illustrate what’s happening in their bodies in a way that still, flat images can’t. Partnering with DrChrono, he notes, brings this 3D technology to patients where physicians are already utilizing iPads and iPhones to access key medical information. Now, physicians can easily access their Complete Anatomy app, which will let them use the iPad to display in-depth cross-sections of anatomy.

3D4Medical is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and is a provider of medical, educational, and health and fitness applications for healthcare professionals, patients, students. These apps utilize 3D technology to change how medical education works.

DrChrono, meanwhile is a Sunnyvale, California-based business that produces EMR platforms for Apple  devices. The company was founded back in 2009, and has collaborated with other companies and organisations in order to deal with issues in the healthcare space.

Late in 2017, it teamed up with FlexScanMD, a medical inventory management provider in order to help healthcare providers keep track of their inventory. This partnership let FlexScanMD integrate with DrChrono’s EHR system and practice management platform, with joint updates on both companies’ platform. Following that, the EHR vendor expanded its cooperation with CoverMyMeds with the goal of improving electronic authorisation and providing greater price transparency.
